How to Clean Gemstones
Moh's Scale of Hardness 5-7
Emeralds, Quartz, Tanzanite, Onyx, Opals, Aquamarine, Citrine, etc.
These stones are semi-soft and therefore require a little more care when cleaning.
These stones may soak in liquids for a few minutes without being damaged. Jewelry
pieces with these stones can be can be cleaned with both the Liquid Jewelry
Cleaner and the Polishing Cream.
Polishing Cream – Recommended a few times a year to
maintain brilliance on all precious metals by removing tarnish or other build-up
on gold, silver or platinum. Cream is designed to polish metals but is safe if
it gets on these stones.
To Clean –Dampen your jewelry item with water, rub
a little of the Polishing Cream directly on the metal, wipe off cream with
a paper towel or soft cloth, rinse with water and dry.
Liquid Jewelry Cleaner - Use daily, weekly, monthly, or
as often as needed to remove unwanted dirt, grease, and grime from these jewelry
pieces.
To Clean – We recommend soaking these items in the
Liquid Jewelry Cleaner while you take a shower or brush your teeth to quickly
sparkle up what you’re wearing that day. Then brush item to remove any
residue buildup, rinse with water and dry.
